Mother's Day Tornado

Happy 1st Mother's Day to me! Do you know how we celebrated it where I live?

An F2 tornado hit our town and the surrounding towns, causing extensive damage wherever it went. Luckily, it didn't come near my house and none of my family or friends were injured. But several of my friends and family's houses and businesses were destroyed, so please keep them in your prayers because rebuilding everything is going to take time and patience.
My brother-in-law was sleeping when he heard the tornado (he heard the typical train sound that everyone talks about). He immediately jumped out of bed and ran to the hallway bathroom. No sooner than he was in the tub, a tree fell through his house and directly onto his bed, splitting in in half. Then two other tress fell on other parts of his house. Thankfully he wasn't injured!
As soon as the storm had passed, John Marc went to pick him up and then got called in to work to start cleaning up some of the trees. He was at work until about 8:00 last night, and I'm sure he'll be working late this whole week. (It's good for the pocket book, but not too much fun for him).
Anyway, I'll never forget my first Mother's Day, that's for sure!

OUR STORY
| We met my 9th grade year (his 10th grade year) of high school in Mrs. Presley's Geometry class. We flirted the whole year, went out with each other's best friends, and then on May 14, 1998 we finally decided to date! Here's the 'romantic' pick-up line I received: "Hey crackhead - wanna' go out with me?" What kind of girl can resist that, so of course I said YES! Fast forward about six years to October 23, 2004. John Marc proposed to me at Tallulah Falls, and again, I said YES! We were married on July 30, 2005 and welcomed baby Elijah to our family on December 4, 2007! |

I'm glad everyone is all right and it definitely makes for a memorable mother's day.
Happy Mother's Day! Sorry, you spent most of it alone. Be sure to post some pics of Matt's house. I haven't gotten to see them yet.
Wow, I can't believe all the pictures I've seen! My parents' house & Nana's house got hit, but thankfully everyone is safe. Glad you are too.
Oh, and Happy Mother's Day!
Wow... I hope that everything works out ok! I've never seen a tornado before.. it must have been really scary!
That is really scary! I'm so glad that everyone is okay!
@ Courtney - Yep. I'll certainly never forget it!
@ Skittle - I'll try to post them whenever she sends them to me. I've only seen a few pictures of it myself.
@ Boss Lady - I'm glad they're okay, too!
@ Joe - Luckily it wasn't really scary where I was at. All we had was a thunderstorm, but I know it was scary for those directly in the storm. And I was really worried about all my family who lived near the storm.
@ Jamie - Thanks!
I'm glad that you and your family are alright!!!! OMG your brother in law is one lucky man!
Happy Belated FIRST Mother's Day!! The tornado news was a distraction, lol.
